Valve got a chance to legally bitch slap Sierra/Vivendi Universal Games Monday. A U.S. Federal District judge granted Valve a summary judgment in their case involving Cyber Cafes and copyright infringement. Basically, Valve sued Sierra Online, saying that the company didn't have the right to distribute their games in cyber cafes because Valve was handling that with their own service. Then, out of spite, Sierra/Vivendi prevented Valve from allowing players to
unlock Half-Life 2 early. The details are really too boring to go into. The only thing that really matters is that the people that kept us all from playing Half-Life 2 early got their asses handed to them in court.
