HDEEEEEEE!!! Gran Turismo

Gallery: Gran Turismo HD

To be honest, I'm not the best person to ask about Gran Turismo. Even though I've been to Polyphony Digital, played Gran Turismo HD for hours, and like shiny, pretty things... this game just isn't for me. It's like work. And I already have a job. This latest batch of screens... I don't know. What do you guys think? Some of those cars look fugly. Some look great. I'm so conflicted! More »

Is The PS3 Sony's Last Console?

You heard about that string of promotions at Sony Computer Entertainment earlier? (If not, Ken Kutaragi is now Chairman and Group CEO and Kaz Hirai is now President and Group COO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., with the latter replacing Ken as president.) Is all that organizational reshuffling just a corporate love-in for a job well done, with new titles and responsibilities for everyone involved, or does it signal a major change at Sony? More »

At long last, Square-Enix fans can shut down their fansites, toss out their petitions, wrap up their fanfics, as the company has announced the game everyone has been demanding: Destiny's Child Groove. That's right, no Vagrant Story sequel for you. Forget about that next-gen Einhander game. Clips: Wario Ware Smooth Moves: The Nintendo Microgames

My personal Wii system seller, Wario Ware Smooth Moves, looks better than I could have possibly imagined. This five-minute preview shows off (I assume) 9-Volt's section of microgames, all based on classic Nintendo franchises. Great allusions to Punch-Out!!, Wind Waker, Starfox, Ocarina of Time, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime... everything really. I almost wish I could unwatch it to see these again for the first time.

IDC Predicts 90% Vista Home Uptake

Market intelligence experts IDC have released a report detailing their projections for Windows Vista uptake among business and personal computers for the coming year. Not surprisingly, home users are expected to make up the bulk of Windows Vista users, with 90% of new computers shipping with the shiny new OS. The corporate world, being understandably wary of adopting new software too early, are predicted to have a much lower uptake rate of 35%. My day job still loads Windows 2000 on new PCs, so I don't expect to see Vista here anytime soon. More »

The Ultimate Hamster Video Game

I was having a relatively bad day until I saw this. This video completely makes up for the whole hamster dance movement. Well, almost.

I love the 8-bit music, and the ending credits are a great touch. My girlfriend owns two of these little guys. Hopefully they will survive the inspiration this video has sparked in me. More »

The Chinese Lara Croft Hunt

With Tomb Raider: Legend soon being released in China, Sina.com, the massive Chinese-language entertainment news site, decided to search for the Chinese Lara Croft. Apparently Karima Adebibe wasn't good enough for them. The contest is featured on a section of their site called, oddly enough, PlayGirl, which is now one of my Firefox bookmarks. The winner receives a cash prize and a photo extra included in the game. More »
