Week In Games: New Years Eve Edition

It's the end of the 2006, and the first batch of games of the new year is rather slim. Things start to ramp up again in the next couple of weeks, but until then we are still stuck in that barren wasteland of games that is always left behind after Christmas. More »

Clips: Intellivision Lock n' Chase Commercial

Here's a little throw back to 1982 with a commercial from Mattel promoting the Intellivision game Lock n' Chase. The kid in the commercial is none other than E.T.'s best buddy, Henry Thomas. Not too sure if this came before of after E.T., but my guess would be before. You notice you didn't see Henry promoting the E.T. video game... More »

Bioshock

Rumor Smash: Bioshock NOT Coming To The PS3.

Website Maxconsole had posted this page from the "current" issue of UK OPM magazine stating that Bioshock was coming to the PS3. I saw this on a tip from a reader and also noticed it was quite high on Digg and on initial research, found PS3 pages for the game on all the major game sites. So, I posted an article about it. But, I apparently didn't dig deep enough. More »

Toys R Us

Toys "R" Us End Of The Year Game Clearance

It's the end of the year and Toys "R" Us is starting their yearly clearance of games and Cheap Ass Gamer has posted a list of all the games currently on sale. There's quite a lot of titles there, although not a lot of really great ones. Still, there are enough gems in there to be able to pick up something on the cheap that perhaps you overlooked at first or simply couldn't afford at the time. More »

Console Launch Fan Art

Kotakuite and gifted artist Jeff C. created this kick ass piece for an Illustrator class at his school. The assignment was to do something that you've never done before, and then make art based on the experience. Jeff decided to attend the Wii launch and design a piece based on the both the PS3 and Wii launches in general. My absolute favorite part is the the guys in the sleeping bags getting pelted with eggs. Nice touch. Looks like poor Mario and Luigi got there a bit late though, I hope there's a system left for them. More »

Biohazard/Resident Evil Airsoft Guns

Whilst following a lead on a Resident Evil Umbrella up for auction on eBay, I actually found something much more interesting. This is a series of four different Airsoft guns based on the weapons used in the Biohazard series or as it's known here in the states, Resident Evil! More »

This Day in Gaming, December 30th

1992: Human Entertainment releases Dragon's Earth for SNES in Japan. There is a bit of debate on the actual release date of this game, but we are going with today. I know it's an RPG, but absolutely nothing else other than there seem to be plenty of romz available and that our planet does not actually belong to dragons (yet).

1997
: Digicube, a vending machine selling Square Co. games, reported that their units had sold over 10 million games. Their numbers would continue to grow through 1998, when they sell 8.6 million games. But by 2003, they declare bankruptcy. With download distribution taking over, it was inevitable. More »

Angry Nintendo Nerd's Best Moments Of 2006
